Year end Field trip with the 4-6th grade! We got to tour the State Capital, even going up to the 14th floor to look over the city! We saw some incredible artwork and some historical mosaics that really put the history of Nebraska into perspective. We saw where the senators meet and got a peek into the Supreme Court. We then went to Antelope Park where we were able to unwind and eat our lunches and just spend some quality fun time together❣️ Then we got on the busses and headed over to the Husker Football Stadium, where there might’ve been some miscommunication of what we could have, or could not have seen, but we made the best of it. We ended up with a trip to Morrill Hall where we were able to appreciate the prehistoric animals that had been here long before us that we can now compare to the beautiful creatures and flowers that make Nebraska our beautiful home we call our own! The highlight was meeting a Husker volleyball player as we were heading out of the stadium, and that seemed to be an extra special end of our great day! Thanks, Jim and Larry, for making it happen!!! And a special thanks to all the moms that were able to join us as well! And one extra shout out to my former student (Sydnee Craig) who made a point to come and say hi as she had a small break where she could zip over and talk to us! It was certainly a beautiful day to learn several new things about the wonderful state that we live in!
