Giltner Public Schools

My name is Kurt Finkey, and I am extremely excited to join Giltner Public Schools as the PK-12 Principal.  I have degrees from Chadron State College in Physical Education, Educational Administration as well as School Counseling.  I currently serve the Louisville Public School District as their School Counselor and have done so for the past 6 years.  I have also been an Assistant Principal, an Activities Director, and a Physical Education
Teacher.  I have had opportunities to coach many sports such as football, baseball, basketball, track, and volleyball.  The most rewarding part of my education career is the opportunity to build relationships with those I serve. I am looking forward to continuing to build positive connections with the Giltner students, staff, and community.
 
My wife, Jill, and I have two beautiful daughters:  Kaylee and Logan.  In addition, we have been blessed with a wonderful son-in-law, Dillon (Kaylee), and two precious grandchildren: Dawson and Blair.  Kaylee and her family live near Crete, NE.   Our daughter, Logan, currently lives in Dallas, TX.  
 
I am an avid outdoorsman who loves to fish and hunt; I also enjoy spending as much time as possible on our
pontoon.  I enjoy cooking and grilling whenever given the opportunity.  I am a loyal HUSKER follower (even though it’s been a challenging few year …), and I am a major Denver Broncos fan.
